05/05/2010 - Cleveland, OH (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Adam Lind hit a two-out two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning, as the Toronto Blue Jays game back to stun the Cleveland Indians, 5-4, and complete the three-game sweep.
Travis Snider and Jose Molina each added an RBI single, while Fred Lewis went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and a run scored for the Blue Jays, who swept the Indians in Cleveland for the first time since winning a three-game set from September 9-11, 2002. Toronto has won four straight and six of seven overall.
Brandon Morrow gave up three runs on six hits and four walks with nine strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings, but did not figure in the decision. Jason Frasor (1-1) was credited with the win for tossing 1 1/3 scoreless frames.
Travis Hafner had a solo homer and Luis Valbuena chipped in with an RBI double, but committed a costly error in the ninth inning for Cleveland, which has dropped four in a row and six of seven.
Fausto Carmona took a no-decision after working 6 1/3 innings. The right- hander allowed seven hits, two runs and four walks, while striking out a pair. Chris Perez (0-2) was tagged with the loss for giving up three unearned runs and two hits in 1 2/3 frames.
Trailing 4-2 in the top of the ninth, Perez allowed a two-out double to Lewis, before Aaron Hill's soft grounder went threw the legs of Valbuena at shortstop to plate Lewis and make it a one-run game. Lind then clubbed a 1-2 fastball over the left-field wall to put the Blue Jays in front 5-4.
In the home half, Frasor served up a two-out double to Shin-Soo Choo, then got Jhonny Peralta to bounce out to third to end the game.
Jose Bautista tripled to start the third inning and crossed the plate on Snider's base hit to give Toronto the early lead. But the Indians came back to tie it in the home half on an RBI double by Grady Sizemore.
Hafner's fourth inning leadoff homer into the right-center field seats put Cleveland up 2-1, before Molina evened things in the fifth with a two-out RBI single.
The Indians loaded the bases with nobody out in the sixth and after Valbuena struck out, Mike Redmond chased in a run with a base hit to give Cleveland a 3-2 edge. Shawn Camp then replaced Morrow and got Mark Grudzielanek to ground into an inning-ending 4-6-3 double play.
Valbuena's two-out run-scoring double into the left-field corner in the eighth put the Tribe ahead 4-2.
Game Notes
Toronto split its eight meetings with the Tribe a year ago... Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera missed his second straight game with tightness in his left quadriceps muscle...It was a bittersweet 39th birthday for Redmond, who had an RBI single and drew a walk in three at bats, but left in the seventh inning with right hip tightness.

Oddsmakers have released the odds for the 2009 AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award and Seattle Seahawks linebacker Aaron Curry has been made the opening favorite.
Seattle took Curry with the fourth overall pick in April's NFL draft and plan on inserting him into its starting lineup right away. The Hawks traded linebacker Julian Peterson in the offseason, so Curry is expected to have a significant role in Seattle's defense next year and that's one of the primary reasons he is the favorite to win the NFL ROY Award.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook MySportsbook.com have made Curry a 5/1 favorite to win this year's NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. Given that he was the best defensive prospect in this year's draft and how he'll have plenty of opportunities to make plays in '09, Curry offers a ton of value at 5/1.
Another thing working for Curry is the position he plays. A linebacker has won the defensive ROY award six straight times and eight of the last nine years. Jerod Mayo, Patrick Willis, DeMeco Ryans, Shawne Merriman, Jonathan Vilma, Terrell Suggs, Kendrell Bell and Brian Urlacher were the most recent linebackers to take home the award.
Following Curry at 5/1 are Tyson Jackson (Chiefs) at 7/1, James Laurinaitas (Rams) at 8/1, Brian Orakpo (Redskins) at 10/1, Rey Maualuga (Bengals) at 10/1 and Jerry Peria (Falcons) at 10/1.
All the players mentioned above are expected to start for their respective teams, but Jackson and Peria are going to have a tough time being recognized on a national level given they're both defensive linemen. D-linemen rarely put up the numbers that it takes to win an individual award like the ROY.
A couple of players with some value are Clay Matthews (Packers) at 12/1 and Larry English (Chargers) at 15/1. Matthews is expected to start at outside linebacker in Green Bay's new 3-4 defense and could rack up a ton of tackles. English, who was an impressive player at Northern Illinois, is expected to be a situational pass rusher for the Chargers and could rack up a ton of sacks.
