Hot Hawks welcome Raptors to Atlanta

Basketball Betting Lines

11/07/2008 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Atlanta Hawks will try to stay unbeaten on the season when they host the Toronto Raptors tonight at Philips Arena.

Atlanta has won its first three games and recorded an 87-79 road victory over the high-scoring New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday. Joe Johnson scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Atlanta.

Josh Smith finished with 11 points and 11 boards while Ronald Murray added 14 points off the bench for the Hawks, who won their first three games in the 1997-98 campaign. Atlanta is off to its best since going 11-0 in 1997-98.

The Hawks will hit the road for four games after Friday's game versus Toronto.

Toronto opened the season 3-0 and suffered its first loss on Wednesday to the Detroit Pistons. Chris Bosh finished with 26 points and 13 rebounds for Toronto, which suffered a 100-93 defeat. Jose Calderon had 24 points and eight assists while Andrea Bargnani added 12 points off the bench.

The Raptors will kick off a three-game road trip on Friday. New Toronto forward Jermaine O'Neal, who was acquired in a six-player deal with Indiana in the offseason, is averaging 10.3 points this season.

Toronto went 2-1 against the Hawks last year and has won four of the past five matchups in this series.

Atlanta is just 2-5 in its last seven games as the host versus the Raptors.
